After
a seven-year engagement, Dianne Alexandra, an entrepreneur
since age sixteen, married David, her soul mate and perfect
partner in any business endeavor. As one of their first
ventures, Dianne and David took a small idea of a petting
zoo and turned it into a multi-million dollar corporation,
working with fairs, rodeos, schools, special events, and
the film industry across the country. |
In 1997 the Western Fairs Association presented David and
Dianne with the prestigious Braham Award for Excellence in
Customer Service and Industry Vision. The most interesting
aspect of the business, however, was the group of ten employees
who began working for David and Dianne in the early days of
the company. They became like family, and David and Dianne
found that they could teach these young people the values
of life and also show them how to incorporate those values
into business. These young people grew up with the company
to become strong and independent entrepreneurs.
Almost
fifteen years later, David and Dianne sold the company to
these employees. This freed up the couple to start another
business -- a Victorian-style restaurant on a six-acre organic
farm. The restaurant was an instant success. The small restaurant
had twenty-four seats, and more were added because of the
increased interest in Dianne's delicious country gourmet cuisine.
The city soon cracked down on them because of seating constraints.
The battle for increased seating waged for five years until,
at age forty-two, David had a heart attack.
At
that point David and Dianne decided to spend more time with
their two beautiful children and semi-retire. They sold everything
and moved. This gave Dianne time to go to Mommy-and-Me meetings,
and from this the First Moms' Club was born.

Dianne's
love for business has yielded her a very diverse background.
She has participated in the radio
broadcasting business on and off for the past twenty years.
She
has also been a speaker at conventions in the fair industry.
One of her most valuable assets is her twenty-three years
of experience in counseling young people and families. Her
hobbies, of course, have been part of her many businesses.
She loves cooking,
interior decorating, gardening, horses
and animals of all kinds, public speaking, writing,
music, poetry, playing the piano and violin, traveling, camping,
fishing, hiking, and sports.
She is also very interested in current events, particularly
political policies. Most of all Dianne absolutely loves children
and life. |

| Dianne
has written two in a series of ten children's books called "Entrepreneurial
Kids." Featuring stories about children who are starting
their own businesses, the books are designed to inspire children
and help them realize how easy it is to start a commercial venture
of one's choosing. Dianne feels that it is important to expose
children, as young as possible, to the entrepreneurial experience.
"No
matter how young children are," she says, "they
can learn responsibility. Taking an idea from beginning to
end takes integrity and character. Failures are just as educational
as successes and should be made fun. I believe that inspiring
children to be entrepreneurial is the best way to teach any
academic subject. It gives them an appreciation of value and
work and a reason to put reading, writing, and math to use.
It also enables them to mature with character and blossom
with self-respect, confidence, industry, and fun."
Dianne's
mission in life is to bring families back together. Parents
should be the strongest influence on their children! The First
Moms' Club strives in every way to bring to the table innovative
ideas to help moms and dads be free to spend more-valuable
time with their families. Dianne feels very strongly about
the importance of parents raising their own children, rather
than having to depend on daycare and baby-sitters. Her counseling
experience with young people brought her to the conclusion
that most of society's behavioral problems with children today
are due to not having at least one parent at home to raise
them.
David
and Dianne have opened the first of the First Moms' Clubs
Entrepreneurs' Marketplaces -- a 7,000-square-foot store with
more than 150 small business available for moms, dads, grandma's,
granddads, and even kids to try their hands at business. This
is the perfect opportunity for anyone to have a little store,
starting with a 4 x 4 booth with the option to grow. Moms
can come in and set up shop -- and the best part is they don't
have to be there! We sell everything for them! This is a great
way to launch a business idea. There is also a play area in
the Entrepreneurs' Marketplace to keep the kids entertained
while moms stock and decorate their booths!
The First
Moms' Club is Dianne's way of contributing to families, giving
them the opportunity to start a home-based business that would
allow moms or dads to be there for their children. It also
gives our children a wonderful opportunity to see that the
American Dream is alive and well. Children can also become
entrepreneurs! Families can become families again, living
and working together.
